Emirates Review: Is Emirates a Good Airline?
Yes, particularly for long-haul travel through Dubai. Emirates offers four cabins and a widebody fleet, and a checked bag is included even on its cheapest Economy fare.
Strengths
- Cabins: Four cabins to choose from, Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First
- Baggage: A checked bag is included on every Economy fare, including the cheapest. Emirates describes its allowance as one of the most generous in the world
- Entertainment: The "ice" system offers a large library of films, television and music
- Fleet: Emirates flies the Airbus A380, Airbus A350 and Boeing 777, all widebody aircraft
- Skywards: Platinum, Gold and Silver members get extra baggage allowance
Good to know
- Fares: Economy comes in four levels, Special, Saver, Flex and Flex Plus, with allowance and flexibility increasing through them
- Allowance: Measured by total weight on most routes, and by number of pieces on flights to and from the Americas and Africa
- What applies to you: Where you are flying, the fare you buy and your cabin all affect what is included
Best for long-haul trips connecting through Dubai, especially if you are traveling with checked bags.
